Occupational Health Technician (OHT)

We are looking for an experienced Occupational Health Technician on a zero-hour contract (£15ph) to deliver health surveillance clinics to our customers, 2 days per month in the the West Yorkshire area.

You will have previous experience of working on site with a customer as you will be our COPE ambassador.  You will be supported by a clinically qualified manager and a friendly head office support team.


About you, you will:

  • Be an experienced and/or qualified OHT with ideally a minimum of 2 years’ experience, however individuals with less experience may be considered;
  • Have own car and full driving licence;
  • Have own laptop and mobile phone;
  • Have own health surveillance kit with evidence of ongoing calibration (we may provide kit if required);
  • Have experience of carrying out the following and be able to provide up-to-date certification as appropriate: Spiro, Audio, skin assessments, vision screening, blood pressure screening, heart rate, height and weight measurements, MSK assessments, HAVS T1 and T2 questionnaires.
  • Have excellent IT skills and be a great communicator. You will be quality driven and have excellent record keeping skills.


About the health surveillance clinics:

  • Some of the clinics will be planned well in advance, some may be more ad-hoc or to provide cover as required;
  • You must ideally be able to work at least 2 days per month, further days may become available within the West Yorkshire area over time;
  • You will be required to be on a customer site for a total of 7.5 hours per day (or 4 hours half day);
  • COPE will provide relevant training on COPE’s systems, policies and procedures.
