Sickness Absence Management

Sickness Absence Management

Long & short-term sickness absence can be very disruptive to an organisation’s operational effectiveness.

COPE’s Occupational Health Advisers focus on providing clear and concise advice reports.  These enable our clients to manage their employees’ sickness absence & health with regards to work.  Their principle objectives when undertaking sickness absence management consultations are:

•    support the employee to understand and manage their health condition
•    provide advice to the referring party on the employee’s fitness to fulfil their role
•    provide appropriate rehabilitation or return to work plans
•    answer any questions specified by the referring party on the referral form
•    identify any potential work-related element to the employee’s health condition
•    provide advice about any reasonable adjustments or support that might be appropriate

COPE have an online management referral process, which provides a fast and secure means for making a referral

All of COPE’s Occupational Health Advisers received extensive training in addition to their qualifications in conducting absence management consultations. We are extremely proud of the skill and expertise of our team,  which really sets COPE apart from our rivals. Please ask for example copies of reports to see for yourself how good they are!

Simple & Secure Online Referral Process

COPE have an online management referral process, which is accessible via a standard web browswer. All connections to the COPE portal are encrypted via SSL/TLS and all sensitive data values are encrypted using AES-256.

The online management referral app provides a fast and secure means for making a referral. The referring party completes a simple online referral form, which includes employee contact details and any questions the referrer would like to have answered. From this point onwards, COPE manage the whole process, including appointment booking.

Maximum waiting time for a telephone appointment is 10 working days.

Virtual Consultations

We triage all referrals received to determine whether a video / telephone, or face-to-face consultation, is most appropriate. In the vast majority of cases, telephone consultations are the chosen course. The main benefits are:

•   significantly reduced appointment waiting times

•   better quality outcomes, particularly for mental health referrals
•   improved employee access, particularly for absent employees
•   reduced disruption and impact on productivity
•   significant reduction in service costs
